Hello, my name is Andrew Misiura. I have been a year 4 teacher at Awfaz Global School since 2014. I am from Canada and received both Bachelor of Arts and my Bachelor of Education degrees from Brock University. After having taught in Canada, I desired to see more of the world and live in a different culture, so I accepted a position in Korea, working for the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education. Over the course of four years, I worked in public Middle and High Schools, served as an Education Consultant for the ministry, and helped develop a teaching guide book to be used by all teachers in the province. My passion for teaching and cultural exploration brought me to Qatar, where I have applied my ESL experience to benefit students here. This year, I have taken on the role of Head of Primary Literacy, through which I hope to raise the English standards at our school by improving and bringing consistency to the English program.
